
Nintendo is counting on new games to pull its once-dominating Wii out of a sales funk in time for the holiday season. Nintendo lowered its forecast for the full fiscal year to a 230 billion yen. Nintendo also cited a strong yen, which hurts Japanese exporters by reducing their overseas earnings. Nintendo reduced the Wii price to $200 from $250 in the U.S. Sales of Nintendo's DS handheld machines fared better than the Wii, Nintendo remained upbeat, saying it hoped to sell 30 million DS machines for the full year through March 2010.
